My name is Tereza Alabanda. I’m a professional pastry chef, graduated from the Academy of Culinary Arts “Le Cordon Bleu” in Paris, France, and later from “Barry Callebaut Chocolate Academy” in Wieze, Belgium. I apprenticed at the “Burj Al Arab” hotel in Dubai.
At the moment, I’m the head pastry chef and head teaching chef at the ‘Oliva Allegra’ Culinary Institute in Split, Croatia. Frequently, I’m invited to write articles and columns for various food magazines (‘New weddings’, ‘Good food’ etc.) and I have also written “The Pastry Chef”, a 365 pages comprehensive textbook on pastry which you can download for FREE right
I have started “Pastry Maestra”TM for a simple reason – I was angry! I was angry because, when I decided to change my profession and become a pastry chef, nowhere, and I mean – NOWHERE on the Internet I couldn’t find a site that offers ALL the information, tutorials, tips etc. about creating desserts in one place! Nowhere! So, I made a decision – when I get my diploma, I will create a site where EVERY pastry and desserts enthusiast, being it a complete beginner, advanced connoisseur, or a professional chef, can find everything and anything on the subject of creating desserts! That’s how “Pastry Maestra” was born.
Wait…what do you mean – you’ve changed your profession? And also – what’s with this ‘Pastry Maestra’ name!? Where did that come from?
Oh…it’s so nice of you to ask, thank you! Now, if you want to know more about me, like – why I named my site “Pastry Maestra”, or – looking at the bigger picture – what is my mission and what am I trying to accomplish – well…watch the video!:)
Now, not that I want to toot my own horn, but here you can read what some of my customers have to say about me…
